Opus is a fantastic audio codec, being built on top of Skype's Silk codec and xiph.org's CELT. It's really a great example of a fully free and open standard (openly developed, standardized by the IETF and royalty free). It's also better than pretty much every other codec out there (including AAC, Vorbis and MP3).
