Back in November 2004, I spent about a week up in Victoria's High Country with my father (+Gary Coles) as part of the Indi Expedition group, a group of volunteers who set out to locate and rebuild the No. 1 Border Cairn at Murray Spring (marks the corner of the western most part of the Black-Allan line and the start of the Murray river, i.e. the border between Victoria and New South Wales). Just found these slides ( http://www.surveying.org.au/docs/techinfo/Black-Allan-Line-Revisited.pdf ) which has some more details about the Black-Allan line and includes a photo of the expedition and the rebuilt cairn.
