Since it's been getting a bit of traction on social media, Republican Mike D. Rogers has introduced a bill (H.R.193 - American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2017) which calls for the United States to terminate their membership of the United Nations and closure of U.S. Missions to the United Nations.

Time to panic?

Well, the same bill was introduced back in at the start of the last two sessions of congress [EDIT: Actually, every congress for the last 20 years!] (H.R.1205 - American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2015 and H.R.75 - American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2013) and both went absolutely nowhere. The one and only action was to be referred to House Foreign Affairs committee - the same for what has happened to this bill.

Oh hey, Snopes beat me to it.

Is the U.S. Pulling Out of the United Nations? :

That's no way to win a Diplomatic Victory.

Oh wait, they took that out, COINCIDENCE?

+David Coles Haha I saw that and thought, "that can't be right, I haven't seen David playing Civ this week". Then I checked and realised you were referring to me. #hasitbeenthatlong   #justonemoreturn

Edit: No wait, we're both reading it wrong. It's 37.2 hours of play time for my entire Steam account in the past 2 weeks. 25 total hours played in Civ VI. No indication of how many of those are in the past 2 weeks.

David Coles
+Matt Giuca Whoops! My bad. Looks like you can see it on the game stats page though: 11.6 hours of 25.2 hours total in the past 2 weeks.
